The second quarter of 2005 showed continued increases in the numbers of consultants and GPs, continuing the pattern of the previous quarter.
At the end of June 2005, there were 31,427 consultants, an increase of 217 or 0.7% since March 2005.
At the end of June 2005, there were 32,418 GPs (excluding retainers and registrars). This represents an increase of 224 or 0.7% since March 2005.
This gives a total increase of consultants and GPs (excluding retainers and registrars) of 441 since March 2005 or 0.7%.
There were also 2,481 GP Registrars, an increase of 46 or 1.9% since March 2005.
