Drug misuse
Have you ever wondered how many adults use illicit drugs?
Since 1996, the use of illicit drugs among adults aged 16 to 59 has generally decreased, with the exceptions of cocaine and magic mushrooms.
To find out more, our annual drugs bulletin provides a range of statistics drawn together from a variety of sources including information on:
- drug misuse among adults
- drug misuse among children, including data on those offered drugs
- drugs and crime
- drug-related hospital admissions, drug treatment and mortality
- European comparison of drug misuse.
Further information on drug use among secondary school children aged 11-15 can be found in the Smoking, Drinking and Drug Use among Young People in England survey reports
