Alcohol
Have you ever thought about how much you drink?
Do you know what the government's daily recommendations for alcohol are? Irresponsible drinking, especially among young people, is a growing concern in England, with increasing levels of binge drinking and alcohol-related hospital admissions.
For more information, our annual bulletin on alcohol provides a range of statistics drawn together from a variety of sources including information on:
- drinking prevalence and patterns among adults
- awareness of alcohol units and recommended limits
- drinking during pregnancy
- drinking among school children, including how they obtain alcohol and their attitudes to drinking
- drinking related ill-health and mortality
- data on alcohol affordability and the burden of alcohol misuse on society.
Further information on drinking among secondary school children aged 11-15 can be found in the Smoking, Drinking and Drug Use among Young People in England survey reports.
