We are consulting on proposed changes to our adult social care collections. This is because of the move to collecting information for the Department of Communities and Local Government's National Indicator Set.
In January and February we asked a large number of stakeholders for their views, which we have used to shape these proposals. To make formal changes to collections, we must now follow an official 12 week National Statistics consultation process.
The NHS Information Centre aims to promote the wider use of NHS transactional data for the purposes of improved patient care and the delivery of local NHS services. The number of requests to the NHS Information Centre and the Prescription Pricing Division of the NHS Business Service Authority for prescribing data has increased recently, including from commercial companies.
The paper ‘Wider release of prescribing data' provides an overview of the current position regarding the availability of prescribing data. It also reviews the relevant legislation, regulations and Department of Health policy that covers prescribing data, and proposes options for the wider release of these data.
