HRG4 2010/11 Local Payment Grouper Documentation

Please note, the Table of Coding Equivalence (TOCE) has been amended on 08/09/2010. The grouper and all other files remain unchanged.

This documentation is to be used in conjunction with the HRG4 2010/11 Local Payment Grouper.

In addition, users should refer to the Payment by Results guidance published on the DH website.

In response to feedback from users and as part of our continuous improvement of products, the Code-to-Group workbook has been redesigned for the latest Local Payment grouper. These improvements have been implemented to make the Code-to-Group workbook more user-friendly and accessible for experienced and first-time users alike.

The new, streamlined Code-to-Group workbook contains far fewer worksheet tabs as the instruction tabs have been migrated to a separate Code-to-Group User Manual leaving users with the core worksheets for using Code-to-Group. Colour-coding of these worksheet tabs now makes navigation quicker and more intuitive, whilst a Quick Start tab provides a Flow Diagram for quick reference and reminders.

The new version now contains a Code-to-Group User Manual, embedded as a PDF file for convenient and speedy reference. Simply double-click on the User manual icon on the Home worksheet to launch the manual. The Code-to-Group User Manual contains worked examples for several different types of Episode/Spell to assist users in familiarising themselves with the Code-to-Group.

The new Code-to-Group workbooks will be available in documentation sets, via the Casemix website, for both the HRG4 2010/11 Local Payment Grouper and the HRG4 2009/10 Reference Costs Grouper due to be released on 1st April 2010.
