Social care collections

This page contains information for people working in local authorities on collecting data for our social care returns. Below is the link to the documents for this year's returns explaining what data we are collecting, guidance for completing returns, and when we need them by. There are also links to previous year's collections for reference purposes.

We collect the following social care information:

Referrals, Assessments and Packages of Care (RAP)

Information on the number of adults contacting social services and going through the community care assessment process, and the services they receive.

Personal Social Services Expenditure (PSSEX1)

The current expenditure on personal social services for adults.

Abuse of Vulnerable Adults (AVA)

A new collection recording safeguarding referrals and associated information.

Adult Social Care Combined Activity Return (ASC-CAR)

Information to support national indicators and data on the number of adults in residential and nursing placements funded by councils with adult social services responsibilities.

Registers of Blind and Partially Sighted People (SSDA902)

Data is collected for each register on a three yearly basis.

User Experience Survey

Social services clients are surveyed to find out what they think of the care they are receiving. More on user experience surveys
