The NHS Information Centre is co-ordinating the establishment of a programme of work to develop a new strategic approach to the use of information on adult social care. These web pages contain documents and further information relevant to this work.
We are also involved in other work which is relevant to this new strategic approach.
A Strategic Direction for Adult Social Care - this report was published in May 2008 in response to a review of national social care collections that we carried out during January and February.
We are now carrying out an official national statistics consultation on proposed changes to our adult social care collections. Take part in the consultation.
Informatics Review - Engineering Report
This is the detailed report on information issues which was produced as part of the DH-led Informatics Review of health and social care. Whilst it is predominantly health-focussed, it does include an assessment of the informatics needs in regard to adult social care. This report is particularly relevant in view of the appointment in DH of a Chief Information Officer for health and social care.
