Improving Social Care

Social care is at the heart of what we do.

We want to play a leading role in making sure that social care information is effective, timely and relevant.

We want to promote the value of using social care information, whether in improving services at local level, or in making central policy decisions.

We want regulators, health researchers and educators to recognise the value of our social care information.

We believe that more can be done to encourage and develop the sharing of information between health and social care.

Many social care service users are also in receipt of health services. Their first concern is that they receive timely, appropriate and integrated care, and that their overall experience of services is good.

We are working to develop the information that can help health and social care providers to deliver this vision.

Main responsibility for information on children's services is held by the Department for Education
