Getting started - how to participate
Participation in the National Diabetes Audit (NDA) requires 5 steps:
- Register your organisation for the audit
To participate in the NDA your organisation must be registered for the audit by completing the relevant Data User Certificate. This enables your organisation to submit data to the audit and gain access to the NDA Analysis Toolkit. - Extracting data
Each organisation must collect the required data to submit to the audit. The data can be extracted from clinical systems using specified queries where IT systems are compatible, or manual data collection methods. - Submitting data
Once all the required data is gathered and correctly formatted it can then be submitted to the audit using the secure Connecting for Health Systems and Service Delivery (CfH SSD) portal provided by OpenExeter. - Check data quality reports
Data quality reports are available via the CfH SSD portal approximately 24 hours after data submission. Your organisation must check this report to identify any discrepancies within the submitted data and to confirm your organisations data has loaded successfully. - Analyse your data using the NDA toolkit
Approximately six weeks after your data was successfully submitted to the audit the analysis will be available within the NDA Toolkit. This will allow your data to be analysed at a local and national level. The HES extract is available in December and data linkage to HES takes place following the release of the data.
