The Annual Report 2011 is now available online.
Online reporting tool - NHS iView has been updated with the latest extract
NHS staff can view selected data via the NHS iView online reporting tool. Various analyses can be applied to the anonymised and aggregated data, which is available at trust and cancer network level. The data has been extracted from the Open Exeter system (so does not include data without NHS numbers or data submitted via another route). New extracts will be taken quarterly and iView updated. The latest extract includes data with a diagnosis date from 1 August 2006 to the end of May 2011.
We want to help make sure that people with bowel cancer receive the best care possible. The more we know about the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of this disease and the outcomes, the more can be done to improve things. The National Bowel Cancer Audit is designed to provide this vital information.

The National Bowel Cancer Audit Project is a high profile, collaborative, national clinical audit for bowel cancer run jointly by The NHS Information Centre and the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI).
The NHS Information Centre's National Clinical Audit Support Programme (NCASP) provides project management and the technical infrastructure, while the ACPGBI provides clinical leadership and direction. National Bowel Cancer Audit Consultation Document (pdf 92KB).
The audit aims to improve the quality of care and survival of patients with bowel cancer. It meets the requirements as set out in the NHS Cancer Plan, NICE guidelines and the Report of the Bristol Royal Infirmary Inquiry.
