Medical Research Information Service
The Medical Research Information Service provides health information to support medical research and audit.
The service can link and manage study cohorts, report on the status of study members and provide long-term follow up for longitudinal studies.
Read the Current Status, Long-Term Follow-up and List Cleaning pages to find our more about what information we may be able to provide.
If your requirements are not covered by these standard services, please contact us. We may be able to suggest a bespoke solution to your research needs.
We can guide you through the approval process, so please contact us for help and advice. The application process page tells you what you will need to do.
The NHS Information Centre is committed to making sure that we will only provide information for medical studies if it adheres to strict ethical and security guidelines.
How do I get information to support my research?
Our MRIS step-by-step guide to the application process sets out how we can help you, and what you will need to do. Following this will make sure that you have the correct approvals; the MRIS Applications Manager will be able to help you every step of the way. Using the NHS IC's Medical Research Information Service will make it easier and quicker to get your study underway.
The key stage is filling out the application form. Our application checklist will guide you through this, and make sure you provide us with all the correct information and supporting documents that we need from you.
