Indicators for Community Services
Community Indicators for Quality Improvement
43 indicators for community services have been identified by the Transforming Community Services (TCS) Programme.
Published by the Department of Health, the Transforming Community Services Programme supports:
- Developing services – setting out clear ambitions, actions and achievements to be delivered
- Developing people – to design, deliver and lead the changes
- Reforming systems – to build the strong organisations and incentives needed to respond to the needs of people in their communities.
The Transforming Community Services programme has engaged with PCTs to co-produce 43 community indicators for quality improvement. The use of these indicators is voluntary and for local use only. They cover many aspects of community services that interface with GPs, secondary care and social services.
The indicators will be of interest to clinicians, providers and commissioners of community services for inclusion in local quality improvement strategies. Used as part of a local quality improvement strategy, they will assist local service improvement and help to raise the standard of care delivered to patients and communities.
