The Quality and Outcomes Framework Database has been developed to hold information from the Quality Management and Analysis System (QMAS) in order to make the valuable information resource available to a wider user-base.

QMAS is the national database of general practice Quality and Outcomes framework (QOF) data that is the basis for payments to practices under new contractual arrangements. QMAS has been implemented by Connecting for Health as part of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) visit the website for more information on QMAS.

The PSU has developed the database with the support of Connecting for Health to meet additional user requirements arising from the introduction of the QOF and QMAS. The database has been developed because the dataset that underlies QMAS has the potential to meet the requirements of a wide range of users, over and above the scope of QMAS reporting.
