Corporate News: NHS Information Centre appoints Clinical Leads for Hospital Specialties and Primary Care
Two senior doctors have joined The NHS Information Centre as clinical leads.
Dr Andy Spencer is our new Clinical Lead for Hospital Specialties. He plans to use his experience as a Consultant Paediatrician at University Hospital North Staffordshire NHS Trust to make sure that The NHS IC develops its information services with hospital doctors in mind.
“I am pleased to be working with The NHS IC towards providing clinicians with information that will help them improve the quality of care they deliver,” said Dr Spencer. “Collecting accurate diagnostic information in particular could potentially lead to a better understanding of the care received by our patients and the outcomes they experience.”
Also joining us is Dr Ralph Sullivan, Clinical Lead for Primary Care. As a partner in a rural practice in the Yorkshire Dales, Ralph intends to apply his insight from general practice to help The NHS IC support this audience through information.
“I am pleased to be joining The NHS IC and working to provide more information and services that help health professionals in their work and therefore also benefit patients,” Dr Sullivan said.
Early priorities for Andy and Ralph are to consult with clinicians across the NHS and to work with important stakeholders, such as the Royal Colleges.
