NHS Information Centre welcomes new Executive Director of Finance and Performance Management
The NHS Information Centre (The NHS IC) has appointed Trevor Doherty as its new Executive Director of Finance and Performance Management.
Trevor joins The NHS IC from Tribal Group, where he was Director of Health Informatics. He has previous experience working with The NHS IC, along with NHS Connecting for Health, in his role as Payment by Results lead for the Secondary Uses Service.
His specialist knowledge includes NHS acute and community data flows, NHS and commercial finance, business process and financial modelling. He has led on the development of new analytical tools to assist in decision making for projects, training and education in teaching hospitals, healthcare speciality costing and examining future financial stability for Foundation Trusts.
Trevor said; “I am pleased to be joining The NHS Information Centre at a key time for the organisation and also for the NHS and social care communities.
“Finance and performance is a key part of the information agenda and I look forward to supporting the work of The NHS IC; helping to support the NHS and social care providers to make better use of information in decision making.”

An accountant and strategic planner, Trevor has 29 years professional experience in the public and private sector and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA).
His previous roles within the NHS include Director of Planning and Director of Finance in two major teaching hospitals.
