Users of NHS Comparators can now view indicator results across an area more easily than ever. Google maps has been integrated into the site so commissioners and providers can make comparisons between SHAs, PCTs or GP practices in a more visual manner – helping to identify trends based on location.

Each area (SHA, PCT or practice) is assigned a colour on the map based on the data it contains, making it easy to identify trends quickly. Detailed data is also available for further analysis, as are graphs and charts.

Run by The NHS Information Centre, NHS Comparators helps users take more control of commissioning and understand where resources can be placed to improve care. The free, online analytical tool has over 200 comparators, covering the whole range of NHS care, including emergency admissions, disease prevalence and maternity. Users can compare their activity and costs locally, within their PCT or SHA and nationally.
