Joint Agency Working Group (JAWG)

To progress the availability of comparable information for the NHS and independent healthcare providers.

The JAWG is chaired by the Head of Informatics at the Healthcare Commission, and is formed from:

The JAWG operates through identifying workstreams and creating sub-groups with appropriate Independent Sector representatives to address the topic. So far the following workstreams have been identified:

  1. Alignment, development and reducing the duplication of indicators, and developing patient level information more information here
  2. Healthcare associated infections (HAIs)
  3. Serious untoward incidents and adverse events (SUIs)
  4. Patient surveys and patient reported outcome measures
  5. Mental health

We will engage with representatives from the independent healthcare sector on these areas, wherever possible using existing groups and forums. This website will be part of the engagement with the independent sector and we will publish our terms of reference, agendas, minutes of meetings and progress updates.
